Meetings technology provider Cvent has introduced two new
offerings related to health and safety in response to the Covid-19 pandemic,
the company announced.
One is the Source Safely microsite, located within the Cvent
Supplier Network, which compiles health and safety information for more than
31,000 properties globally. It includes information such as cleanliness
standards and other guidelines from convention and visitor bureaus, hotel
management companies, independent venues and hotel chains, and is updated
regularly as new information comes in from suppliers.
Cvent has also created a set of nearly 60 standardised
questions related to hotel health and safety protocols that will be included in
the company's Business Transient Solution request-for-proposals product,
formerly known as Lanyon. Supplier answers to them, however, will be available
in a custom channel field in the property profile, where clients will be able
to view them through the Custom Template Builder while they are pulling
information about a supplier's specific bid or during the solicitation process.
The questions will not be included in the RFP "so the answers will not
remain stagnant in bids," as suppliers can modify their answers as their
practices around Covid-19 evolve, according to the company.
The questions took into consideration recommendations from
corporations, travel management companies, hotel suppliers and industry organisations
such as the American Hotel & Lodging Association. Examples include:
"Are all employees trained on Covid-19 safety and facility sanitation
protocols?" and "Are hand sanitising stations installed and easily
accessible by employees and guests at hotel entrances as well as the reception
area?"
The Covid-19 questions are available for suppliers to answer
now and will become available in early August to all Cvent corporations and
travel managers to view as part of the RFP process.
