UK-based serviced apartment agency Situ has integrated
location technology what3words into its core platforms in a bid to help guests
find properties.
What3words assigns a unique combination of three words to
each three-metre square across the globe. For instance, users who go to the
location ///activism.tape.admits will find themselves standing in front of
London¡¯s famous landmark Big Ben. According to the company, its three-word
addresses can be a more accurate way of navigating to a specific location than
a traditional street address.
Situ¡¯s website and booking confirmations will display the
what3words address of the property, which will direct travellers to the
building¡¯s front entrance. The company says it will work with suppliers and
property operators to get the correct what3words address loaded for every
location across its global network, which will span more than 115 countries by
the end of 2021.
Managing director Phil Stapleton said: ¡°We are always
looking for ways to enhance the customer experience and make the travel process
as seamless as possible. Integrating what3words into our core business processes
is a very clever way to promote easier, safer and better travel for everyone.¡±
