The new deal with Oneworld was described by Sabre as a ¡°significant milestone¡± for Prism, which automates, aggregates and analyses corporate sales information globally to help airlines to assess the performance of corporate rate deals.
Sabre added that the renewal would allow Prism to expand further within the Oneworld network, which includes British Airways, Iberia, Finnair, Qatar Airways and American Airlines.
Prism is used by around 30 airlines to ¡°grow and manage¡± their corporate sales programmes. The system processes 13 million tickets monthly, according to Sabre, with data being supplied by more than 26,000 corporations.
Darren Rickey, Sabre¡¯s?senior vice president for global airline sales and accounts, said: "Prism is uniquely positioned to help our partners unlock the full value of their corporate relationships by combining real-time intelligence, predictive analytics and deep domain expertise."
But the system, which was acquired by Sabre in 2012, has courted criticism over the past two decades after airlines insisted that buyers share data with Prism to allow them to measure compliance with contractual terms.
When Lufthansa exited Prism in 2021, the move was welcomed by German business travel association VDR due to concerns about data protection and security.
