Hong Kong carrier Cathay Pacific has announced it will make
its NDC content available through the Amadeus Travel Platform and cytric Travel
and Expense, building on the airline¡¯s use of Amadeus Altea NDC.
Both organisations have started work to integrate Cathay
Pacific¡¯s NDC-sourced content into the platform, which will allow travel agents
and corporates using Amadeus¡¯ technology to search, compare, book
and service content via NDC in one merged display alongside other content.
According to Cathay Pacific, its NDC offering will include
content such as seat selection, fare families and special fares. Critical
functionalities such as ticketing exchange and refunds will also be available.
NDC content is expected to be available through the Travel
Platform from the first quarter of 2022 in several markets, according to
Amadeus. In addition, NDC bookings will be able to be processed through cytric
Travel and Expense in 2022. A gradual global roll-out will follow.
Martin Xu, general manager, sales and distribution at Cathay
Pacific, said: ¡°We believe NDC is a major driver in the future of airline
content distribution and will be key in helping us reach new customers.¡±
Javier Laforgue, executive vice president, air distribution
at Amadeus, added: ¡°The integration of Cathay Pacific¡¯s NDC-sourced content in
the Amadeus Travel Platform will equip the airline to meet changing traveller
needs head-on and reach for new opportunities.¡±
