Business events and meetings trade association Beam has announced that Ian Brown is joining the board as its new marketing director.

Brown, who has more than 15 years¡¯ experience in the sector, will continue in his current role as venues and events director at the VBX agency alongside his responsibilities with Beam.

¡°It¡¯s an inspiring time for the association as we look to further establish Beam as a brand, expand our members across new and different specialities and support our industry with the challenges the past two years have thrown at us,¡± he said.

Brown founded VBX¡¯s events arm, which focuses on corporate event production and venue sourcing, with business partner Jess Hobday in 2021.

Beam¡¯s chair Sian Sayward said its board would be strengthened by Brown¡¯s ¡°insight and experience¡±, as the association looks to ¡°sharpen¡± its focus and create a more diverse membership.?Beam was previously known as the Hotel Booking Agents Association before rebranding in 2021.?
