Belgium is relaxing its Covid-19 testing rules for fully
vaccinated passengers travelling from certain countries outside the EU or
Schengen area.
Under the current rules, foreign nationals travelling from
red zone countries under Belgium¡¯s colour-coded traffic light system, which
includes the UK, have to take a Covid-19 PCR or rapid antigen test on day one
or two after arrival and isolate until they receive a negative result. They also
have to take a test on day seven of their stay.
From this Friday, 26 November, the rules will change to
allow vaccinated foreign nationals to present a negative result from a PCR test
taken within 72 hours of arrival or a rapid antigen test taken the day before
or on arrival. They will no longer be required to test on days one/two or seven
of their stay.
Vaccinated visitors are also required to fill out a
passenger locator form (PLF) unless they are included on a very limited list of
exemptions.
Those staying in Belgium for less than 48 hours will not be
required to quarantine or take a test but they must still complete a PLF.
Belgium¡¯s acceptance of rapid antigen tests for
international travel comes after the Belgian Association of Travel Management campaigned
for the move, saying it would provide a boost to the country¡¯s travel industry.
