The Franco-Swiss rail operator, a subsidiary of SNCF Voyageurs and Swiss Federal Railways, said its regular summer service, which operates between 27 June and 23 August, will be extended in 2026 to run from April to October.
The service will operate daily from Thursday to Monday, departing from Marseille at 1:45pm and stopping at Aix-en-Provence, Avignon and Lyon Part-Dieu before arriving in Geneva and then Lausanne at 6:40pm for a total journey time of five hours.
TGV Lyria CEO ?ric Dehlinger, said: ¡°With this exceptional expansion of our service to Switzerland, we are creating more opportunities to connect the south of France to Geneva and Lausanne in a direct, comfortable and sustainable way.¡±
A recent study commissioned by TGV Lyria found that rail travel between France and Switzerland emits up to 24 times less CO2 than travel by airplane or car.
