The European Sleeper night train is launching its extended route this week with the addition of new stops in Germany and the Czech Republic.

The operator, which started its initial Brussels-Amsterdam-Berlin night train service in May 2023, is extending the service from Berlin to Dresden and Bad Schandau in Germany, and then on to the Czech capital Prague.

The first departure from Brussels takes place on Monday (25 March) with arrival in Prague on Tuesday (26 March) morning followed by the inaugural service in the opposite direction later that day.

The extended European Sleeper service will initially run three times per week departing Brussels at 7.22pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and arriving in Prague at 10.56am the following day.?

Departures from Prague will operate on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, with trains leaving the Czech capital at 6.04pm and arriving in Brussels at 9.27am the next day.

Elmer van Buuren, co-founder of European Sleeper, said: ¡°We are truly thrilled to be launching the new route to Prague less than a year after launching our first direct service from Brussels to Berlin.

¡°Our goal is to add a new route each year so we can continue to contribute to a more integrated and sustainable European transportation network.¡±?

The company plans to add another long-haul service connecting Amsterdam, Brussels and Barcelona in 2025 or 2026. This route has been selected by the European Commission as one of 10 pilot projects designed to improve cross-border train connections around the EU.
