Of those global corporate travel buyers with risk-management plans in place, 81 percent found theirs to be effective after the March 22 Brussels terror attacks. The Global Business Travel Association surveyed 301 travel managers across the United States and 10 European countries between March 23 and 28 and found that 72 percent have risk-management plans in place. Flipping the numbers, though, caused concern for GBTA executive director Michael McCormick: ¡°With 28 percent reporting their company either doesn¡¯t have a risk-management plan in place or they are unsure if there is one and 13 percent who found their plans ineffective after the Brussels attacks, there is clearly still work to do.¡± The poll also found that 90 percent of travel managers expect their companies¡¯ level of travel within Europe to stay the same or to decline only slightly.
