Expense management provider Chrome River launched a five-person sales, support and implementation operations team in Sydney. About 5 percent of Chrome River users already are based in Asia/Pacific¡ªprimarily Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand and Singapore¡ªand the company expects that figure to "grow significantly" due to a need for easy-to-use, configured cloud-based solutions, according to a Chrome River spokesperson. In February, Chrome River chief marketing officer Julie Roy told BTN the company had hired someone based out of San Francisco to work with customers on the West Coast and in Asia/Pacific, its next target market. Asia/Pacific has the largest share of business travel spend, 39 percent, and the Global Business Travel Association expects that figure to increase by 3.5 percent by 2019.
