The German carrier started offering flights featuring the Allegris product onboard Airbus A350 aircraft on routes from Munich in May 2024, as part of Lufthansa¡¯s €2.5 billion overhaul of its long-haul fleet of aircraft.
On Saturday (30 August), Lufthansa saw its first Dreamliner fitted with Allegris cabins arrive at Frankfurt from Seattle ¨C home of aircraft manufacturer Boeing. The airline plans to initially deploy the aircraft on services from Frankfurt to Toronto from the middle of October.
Jens Ritter, CEO of Lufthansa Airlines, said: ¡°I am particularly pleased that we can now offer our guests the premium Allegris experience in Frankfurt.
"With the arrival of the Boeing 787-9, the modernisation of our long-haul fleet at our largest hub is now also receiving a major boost. This will enable us to use significantly quieter and fuel-efficient aircraft types featuring the latest technology for our guests in Frankfurt as well.¡±
Lufthansa plans to quickly add Allegris service on more flights from Frankfurt with up to nine additional Boeing 787-9 aircraft expected to arrive at the airport by the end of 2025.
