The move is part of the integration process of ITA¡¯s services following Lufthansa¡¯s acquisition of a minority stake in the Italian carrier earlier this year.
Status members of Lufthansa Group¡¯s loyalty programme will be able to use ITA¡¯s lounges at airports in Rome, Milan and Catania from 1 July.
¡°This will significantly expand the lounge network, especially for travel to and via Italy,¡± said Lufthansa in a statement.
Other changes will see all Lufthansa Group status passengers benefit from priority check-in, additional baggage allowance and waiting list priority when flying with ITA Airways.
Meanwhile, the group¡¯s Senators and HON Circle members will also receive priority boarding, fast track access, accelerated baggage handling and free seat reservations.
Dieter Vranckx, chief commercial officer of the Lufthansa Group, said: "The harmonisation of our frequent traveller status benefits across the Lufthansa Group marks a significant step for our most loyal guests.
¡°By expanding lounge access and introducing additional privileges for Lufthansa Group status customers, we are offering more convenience and flexibility."
