Finnair is adding extra flights from the UK and Ireland to
Helsinki for the festive period, while the popular London route will see the
return of twin-aisle aircraft to boost capacity.
According to the flag carrier, customers will benefit from
an additional seven flights between Heathrow and Helsinki from 17 December 2021
to 2 January 2022. The route will also receive a new weekend service from 27 November,
with flights departing Helsinki on Saturday evenings and returning from
Heathrow on Sunday mornings.
In addition, Finnair will reintroduce its wide-body A330s
and A350s on the Helsinki-Heathrow route, boosting capacity for both passengers
and cargo. The airline says the move will help it meet increasing demand.
The carrier is also increasing services on its Manchester
and Dublin routes to Helsinki, with each benefiting from an additional Friday
return flight between 3 and 17 December. This special service will also operate
on 7 January 2022.
Meanwhile, Edinburgh will continue to be served with three
flights per week.
