Ethiopian Airlines is to offer flights between Manchester and Geneva this winter after securing approval to carry passengers between the two European cities.
From 30 October, all of the airline*s Manchester flights to the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa will operate via Geneva. The service will run four times per week on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from this date. Currently the airline is flying three times a week between Manchester and Ethiopia.
Ethiopian Airlines is permitted to carry passengers between Manchester and Geneva after being granted ※fifth freedom§ rights. The airline previously operated its Manchester-Addis Ababa flights via Brussels before the pandemic struck in 2020.?
The Manchester-Geneva-Addis Ababa services will use Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft featuring economy and business class cabins.
