The carrier will add four weekly flights from London Heathrow from the start of its winter schedule in late October. The move comes despite the ongoing war between Israeli forces and Hamas in Gaza.
The additional flights will take El Al¡¯s frequencies from Heathrow to Tel Aviv up to 15 flights per week. The airline is planning to use its larger wide-body aircraft on the Heathrow route to further increase capacity.
El Al will also offer five weekly flights from London Luton to Tel Aviv this winter, allowing the carrier to offer 20 flights per week from the UK capital.
Shlomi Zafrany, VP of commercial and industry affairs at El Al, said: ¡°London is a key gateway, both for business and tourism. Expanding our operations will allow us to offer more options to our passengers and increase access not only for those travelling from Tel Aviv, but also for passengers originating in London and other global gateways.¡±
The airline has partnerships with several other airlines operating at Heathrow, including a codeshare arrangement with Virgin Atlantic?and a strategic partnership with US carrier Delta.
