EasyJet is to add 11 new routes from Newcastle Airport in summer 2026 after deciding to open its eleventh base at the UK airport.
The budget airline announced last month that it would base three aircraft at Newcastle from next March as it plans to double its network from the airport.
EasyJet¡¯s new routes from Newcastle will fly to Prague, Nice, Malta, Faro in Portugal, Antalya and Dalaman in Turkey, Reus in Spain, the Greek islands of Rhodes and Corfu, Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt and Tunisia¡¯s Enfidha.
The airline already flies from Newcastle to Alicante, Amsterdam, Geneva, Malaga, Palma in Majorca, Paris, Bristol and Belfast.
Leon McQuaid, Newcastle Airport¡¯s director of aviation development, said:?¡°The base will deliver significant benefits to the airport and wider region, creating more than 1,200 jobs and paving the way for even more exciting new routes, which we look forward to announcing with easyJet in August.¡±
