EasyJet has been the biggest aviation loser of lockdown, according to research from travel data and analytics firm Cirium.
The company has analysed those airlines that have reduced their schedules as a result of the national lockdown in England and found that easyJet has suffered most, reducing schedules by 49 per cent this week compared to last week.?
The company said that the airline had also seen the biggest drop compared with last year, with scheduled departures down 92 per cent this week compared to the same period in November 2019.
Virgin Atlantic was the second most affected, said Cirium, with scheduled flights from the UK down 22 per cent compared to last week and down 78 per cent compared to the same period last year.
Ryanair¡¯s scheduled flights from the UK were down 19 per cent week on week while British Airways scheduled 6 per cent fewer flights.
The company said that 31 per cent of the global passenger jet fleet is in storage, as of 11 November, around 8,100 aircraft.
