Regional carrier Eastern Airways has announced it will
launch a new service between Leeds Bradford and Cornwall Newquay on 9 July as
it prepares to resume a number of services.
The Yorkshire-Cornwall route was previously operated by
Flybe, which collapsed in March as a result of a downturn in bookings caused by
the coronavirus pandemic. Eastern Airways had been a franchise partner of the
airline and has since secured a number of Flybe's services.
Flights on the new route will operate daily Monday to
Friday.
The news comes as Eastern Airways prepares to resume a
number of regional services from 22 June, including Aberdeen to Newcastle,
Teesside and Southampton, from Southampton to Belfast City and Manchester, and
from Teesside to Belfast City. From 29 June, it will restart the Leeds
Bradford-Southampton route, followed on 6 July by Teesside to London City,
Southampton and Newquay 每 a new route for the airline 每 and Southampton-Dublin
on 23 July.
Eastern Airways said it will introduce new health and safety
measures including enhanced aircraft and airport cleaning protocols.
