China Eastern Airlines has launched a new route between Geneva and Shanghai as it expands its European network this summer.
The Shanghai-based carrier operated the first Shanghai-Geneva service on Monday (16 June). The route will be served four times per week and is the first direct flight between the two cities operated by a Chinese airline.
China Eastern will also launch a route between Shanghai and Milan on 20 June, followed by a Shanghai-Copenhagen service on 17 July. The three new routes mean that the airline will operate flights to 15 European cities this summer.
The carrier, which is a member of the SkyTeam alliance, is using Airbus A350 and A330 aircraft on the Shanghai-Geneva route with departures on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
