Schiphol said that it handled a total of 43,320 flights last month, which was a 2 per cent rise compared with July 2024.
In a statement, Schiphol said that it had catered for 4.2 million direct passengers and another 2.3 million transfer travellers in July.
The most popular destinations in July were Spain, the UK and Greece, with 81.5 per cent of all Schiphol¡¯s flights travelling to European destinations. Passenger traffic for European flights was up by 4.3 per cent year-on-year, while there were larger rises for routes to Africa (+4.9 per cent) and the Middle East (+5.5 per cent).
During the first seven months of the year, Schiphol has catered for 39.3 million passengers, up by 3.2 per cent on the same period of 2024, while the number of flights rose by 1.2 per cent to 276,000 services over the same period.
The number of annual flights permitted at the airport is due to drop from 500,000 to 478,000 from the start of the winter schedule in late October.
This change is being imposed by the Netherlands government to reduce noise pollution from Schiphol¡¯s airport. The airport is already reducing the number of night flights, which are down by 2.8 per cent year-on-year so far in 2025, and charging higher fees for older, more ¡°noisy¡± aircraft.
