The twice-weekly seasonal transatlantic service links Toronto Pearson Airport with Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). Flights depart from Berlin to Toronto on Monday and Friday.
Aletta von Massenbach, CEO of Berlin Brandenburg Airport, said Toronto was an ¡°exciting new long-haul destination in North America¡±.
¡°The new non-stop connection to Canada is an important milestone for BER as an airport location,¡± added von Massenbach. ¡°It strengthens our intercontinental route network, offering new travel options while opening up economic and tourist potential for the Berlin-Brandenburg region.¡±
Cyril Cousin, Air Transat¡¯s director, France and Benelux, emphasised Air Transat¡¯s joint venture with Porter Airlines, which offers onward connections from Toronto to domestic destinations including Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Halifax.
Air Transat will use Airbus A321LR aircraft on the Berlin-Toronto route offering 12 seats in Club Class and 187 in economy.
