Flights on the new route will operate three times weekly during the peak summer season, departing Edinburgh each Tuesday, Friday and Sunday morning. Flights from Montr¨¦al, meanwhile, depart each Monday, Thursday and Saturday evening, before arriving at Edinburgh Airport the next morning.
The service will run until 7 September on the carrier¡¯s 737 MAX 8 aircraft, which feature 16 seats in Premium Economy and 153 in Economy.
The new route is in addition to Air Canada¡¯s existing daily service between Edinburgh and Toronto, and is the only connection between Scotland and Montr¨¦al, according to the carrier.
Air Canada's senior director of sales, EMEAI, Margaret Skinner said: "Edinburgh has always been an important market for Air Canada, thanks to strong business, tourism, and cultural ties between Scotland and Canada, so we are proud to be expanding our presence in the market by adding a second route for 2025."
The carrier will operate a total of 75 weekly flights between the UK and Canada this summer, with routes from London Heathrow, Manchester and Edinburgh to Canadian cities including Calgary, Halifax, Montr¨¦al, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver.
